We've got the Beat (Sheet)
How to plot our your story using the JULIA HAS NOTES Beat Sheet Template
I got a comment on one of my TikTok videos this morning that read: “How do I become a screenwriter? I have a lot of great ideas!” To be fair, I get some iteration of this comment daily.
But, as we discussed in Tuesday’s post, it’s not enough just to have a great ideas. (And, in most cases, these “great ideas” are really just idea nuggets.) To be a screenwriter—and a professional one at that—you have to actually execute on these ideas.
In short, you’ve got to write a script.
And I’m going to be honest… writing a script is HARD! I do this for a living and I still break into a cold sweat every time I type FADE IN.
But, through years of professional experience, I’ve found tools and created templates (like my logline template) to help make the writing process easier.
And in today’s Friday post, I’m going to be sharing one of my favorite templates I’ve ever created. Something I use regularly in my own writing.
Introducing, the JULIA HAS NOTES Beat Sheet Template.
